Description
This dataset includes occurrence records of Bats from the Eastern part of Switzerland (Cantons AG, AI, AR, BL, BS, GL, GR, LU, NW, OW, SG, SH, SO, SZ, TG, UR, ZG, ZH), the Ticino, the Principality of Liechtenstein as well as border areas. Data sources are museum collections, the literature, field observations provided by a network of volunteer collaborators and regional representatives of the Coordination Centre (Schweizerische Koordinationsstelle Ost für Fledermausschutz), environmental impact studies, national and regional inventories, monitorings, field work for Red Lists (http://www.bafu.admin.ch/uv-1412-d) and academic work. The period covered by the data extends from 1835 to the present day. All data provided have been subject to a validation procedure.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 79,254 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
