Description
This dataset includes records of the Actinopterygii and Cephalaspidomorphi pro parte (Acipenseridae, Anguillidae, Blenniidae, Centrarchidae, Clupeidae, Cobitidae, Coregonidae, Cottidae, Cyprinidae, Esocidae, Gadinae, Gasterosteidae, Gobiidae, Ictaluridae, Percidae, Petromyzontidae, Salmonidae, Siluridae, Thymallidae) from Switzerland and the adjacent area. Data sources include museum and private collections, literature, field observations provided by volunteer collaborators, environmental impact studies, national inventories (Red List strategy), cantonal inventories and academic work. The period covered by the data extends from 1817 to the present day. All data provided have been subject to a validation procedure, delegated to associated specialists.
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 71,211 records.
